Teaching Redefined

The day began with a prayer in the college Chapel.. With almighty's blessings, May everyone prosper In the first hour we were informed that there would be a 'Talent Hunt' programme and everyone need to bring out their best in it. Then we had a detailed discussion on Education and the different sub-sections in it.  Strong minds discuss ideas,  Average minds discuss events,  Weak minds discuss people.                                       - Socrates Education is the process of making desirable changes for individual and for the society.  Change; should be   -Cognitive -Affective  -Psychomotor  Next we had a fun session with Dr. Giby Vargeese.. She taught us the basic qualifications we need as a teacher.  The importance of Communication and Social interaction.  Always be mindful when you speak and develop your speaking skil...

Second day began with Ancy teachers class.. She gave us an introduction on her subject 'General Paper'. Then in the next hour came Dr. Giby Varghese, who would teach us on 'Educational Psychology'. She introduced a new 20-20-20 method used by the famous writer Robin Sharma... Everyday, you should use the first 20 minutes to exercise or to do some stretching.. The next 20 minutes should be devoted to meditate or for prayer and the last 20 minutes to study or to read.. Then we had a session with Dr. Joju.. He enlightened us on many aspects and how we could get over our inhibition and how to be a dynamite teacher. Final hour we had a session for physical education. Sir taught us the difference between Major and Minor games and the whole batch decided to play a minor game as an ice breaking session.

First day at MTTC was was not just another day, but it was an opportunity, a new chance, a new beginning.. The whole session began with a prayer song and teachers introducing themselves and then an ice breaking session with a dance.  Teachers gave us an introduction and emphasized the importance of time management..  1. Manage Time (make 'To-do' list)  2. Identify priority 3. Making it happen  4. Evaluate deviations A detailed discussion on time management was conducted.. How to stop procrastination, how to be productive, to be efficient, work without stress, etc.. 

Mar Theophilus Training College is a Syro-Malankara Catholic Church teacher training college. It is administered by the Metropolitan Archbishop of Trivandrum. MTTC was in 1956 as an affiliated College to the University of Kerala, with J.Y. Thampi Haris as the first Principal. Dr. K.Y.Benedict is the current Principal. MTTC offers courses for Bachelor of Education and Master of Education degrees.
